1 Dead Inside Little Armenia House Fire
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A person was found dead inside a home that caught fire in Little Armenia Thursday evening.
The fire was reported at 8:29 p.m. in a two-story home at 739 N. Mariposa Ave., near Melrose Avenue, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Scott said rescuers arriving at the location reported the structure was engulfed with "heavy smoke."
With 44 firefighters on the scene, the blaze was out in 16 minutes, he said.
"Sadly, one victim was found deceased inside," Scott said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
