1 Dead In Fall, 1 Dead In Wreck Of Corona Crash
CORONA (CBSLA.com) — One motorist was killed in a fall and another died in the wreck of a crash in Corona, according to the Riverside coroner.
The unusual accident occurred on the Riverside (91) Freeway just after 1:15 a.m.
Officials said Mariano Perez, 19, lost control of his pickup truck.
The pickup spun around and came to a stop facing the wrong way on the eastbound 91, according to the coroner.
After Perez got out of his vehicle, he saw a sedan headed straight for him. He jumped over a bridge rail and fell 30 feet to his death.
The sedan driver, identified as Richard Gonsalves, 53, struck a third vehicle, the coroner said and was killed.
