Firefighters battle brush fire near Hansen Dam
The Los Angeles Fire Department with help from L.A. County firefighters are attempting to contain a brush fire at Hansen Dam.
As of 6:29 p.m., about half an acre of medium to heavy brush has been burned.
Fire grows to 8-10 acres
Officials with the Los Angeles Fire Department said the Hansen Dam fire has grown to 8-10 acres, and was slowly creeping forward, though fire crews were getting a handle on the blaze.
Fire grows to 6 acres
The fire has grown to approximately six acres amid light winds as of 7:15 p.m.
Helicopters drop water on blaze
After pulling water directly from the dam, firefighters circle back and dump it over the blaze to contain and extinguish flare ups. The LA County Fire helicopter can drop up to 1,000 gallons at a time. Several helicopters are working the brusher.

No structures threatened
According to LAFD, there is no ember cast nor are there any structures threatened.
