E! People's Choice Awards 2018: Winners, highlights and big moments
The 44th annual People's Choice Awards, now called the E! People's Choice Awards, kicked off Sunday night at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Fans got to see if their picks won Sunday at the only major awards show voted on entirely by the public for fan favorites in movies, music, TV and digital.
The ceremony honored the best in film, TV, music and pop culture -- with a total of 43 categories.
Victoria Beckham was awarded the fashion icon award, while Nicki Minaj won awards for female artist and album of the year.

"Avengers: Infinity War" wins movie of 2018
11:06 p.m.: Darren Criss presented the final award of the night, movie of 2018, which went to "Avengers: Infinity War." Gurira thanked first responders and said, "Thank you for what you do. To all of us, whatever we can do, please put our minds and hearts to it of the L.A.S.D foundation, big or small. We just want to dedicate this to them and know that we are with you in every way we can be."
Bryan Stevenson wins people's champion award
11 p.m.: John Legend presented the 2018 people's champion award to Bryan Stevenson, a lawyer, professor, activist and author who is fighting against racial discrimination in the criminal justice system. Stevenson is the founder of the Equal Justice Initiative as well. Legend sang U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)" as audience members waved their lit phones in the air.
Stevenson then took the stage and talked about his work and said, "I don't believe any human being is just a word. Because of that, with a lot of advocates and lawyers and people like John, we've been able to reform our justice system. There are places in this country where our system treats you better if you are rich and guilty than poor and innocent. We created conditions that are just not fair." Stevenson talked the oppression of native people and black people in the U.S. He said, "Slavery did not end in 1865. It turned into decades of terrorism and violence." He also said he wants to end hate and embrace hope.
"Avengers" wins action movie
10:44 p.m.: Ryan Eggold of "New Amsterdam" presented the award for action movie, which went to "Avengers: Infinity War." Pom Klementieff gave an acceptance speech and thanked her colleagues in the movie. Johansson said, "It's so exciting to be able to make movies that are driven by fans."
Sabrina Carpenter presented the award for group of 2018, which went to BTS, who sent in an acceptance video thanking their fans.
Nicki Minaj wins album of the year
10:38 p.m.: Kat Graham and Lil Rel Howery presented the award for album of 2018, which went to Nicki Minaj's "Queen." Minaj also won female artist of 2018 as well. She said, "Thank you to all of the queens around the world that are maybe not at the place they want to be in their lives, but the fact that you are pushing and you are not being lazy and not complaining but going for your dreams every day, shout out to you." She also said she was dedicating her award to Kim Kardashian for looking so good in her dress.
Retta, Christina Hendricks and Mae Whitman presented competition show. "The Voice" won the award, where Carson Daly and Blake Shelton accepted the award on the show's behalf. They thanked all of the coaches on "The Voice," while Shelton pointed at his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, and said she was his "all-time favorite coach." Stefani took the stage and said she was so excited to be with Shelton.
"Keeping Up with the Kardashians" wins reality show
10:23 p.m.: Chrissy Teigen presented reality show of 2018, which went to "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." Kim Kardashian West gave an acceptance speech and said her community was devastated after the California fires and the Thousand Oaks shooting.
"We cannot face devastation alone. We must continue to reach out and help each other," she said as she urged fans to donate to relief efforts.
Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West of "Happy Together" presented the award for show of 2018, which went to "Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments."
Scarlett Johansson wins female movie star of 2018
10:08 p.m.: Sara Gilbert and Johnny Galecki presented female movie star of 2018, which went to Scarlett Johansson for "Avengers: Infinity War."
Johansson thanked her fans and dedicated her award to them and said, "I never won anything like this before; it's the people's choice." She also dedicated her award to the armed forces. "They put their lives on the line so we don't have to," she explained.
Nicki Minaj wins female artist
Jimmy Fallon presented the award for female artist, which went to Nicki Minaj. She thanked her management team and everyone who worked on her album "Queen," and said to her fans, "I can't imagine my life without you. I love you to pieces. I can't wait to see you guys on tour." Then she winked and said, "Shout out to Michael B. Jordan because he's going to be taking this [dress] off of me tonight."
Rita Ora performed "Let You Love Me" off her new album, "Phoenix."
Victoria Beckham wins fashion icon award
9:47 p.m.: Sarah Silverman and Jack McBrayer took the stage, and Silverman said McBrayer was told he could present with anyone he wanted. Unfortunately for him, Issa Rae and the stars of "Broad City" were all busy. He laughed nervously when Silverman said they were a great pair. The two presented the award for male TV star of 2018, which went to Harry Shum Jr. for his role on "Shadowhunters." He said he loves reading fan mail and hearing about how characters from the show affect his fans. "It means so much that you wrote me," he said. He also thanked his "beautiful wife, who is my plus-two today," he said with a wink; Shum's wife, Shelby Rabara, is pregnant.
Amber Valletta presented Victoria Beckham with the People's fashion icon award. Valletta revealed that she was wearing one of Beckham's dresses onstage at the show. She talked about Beckham's ambition and style and said that the former Spice Girl is also one of the nicest women she's ever met.
Beckham paid tribute to victims of the California fires before thanking fans for their support. She said recognition by her fans was very meaningful to her, and she talked about her hard work in fashion.
"If you really, really want it," she began, referencing a Spice Girls lyric, "If you really, really put your head down and you focus and you work hard and you believe in yourself, what you can achieve is incredible. Many years ago,I started with girl power and now that message is still strong as ever."
She continued and said to women who have struggled, "If you've ever been doubted, this award tonight is for all of us."
Blake Shelton wins country artist
9:33 p.m.: Terry Crews and Betty Gilpin took the stage to present country artist, and paid tribute to the victims of the California fires, asking viewers to donate to the Red Cross. Blake Shelton won the award, and pointed to a pin on his lapel and said it was in honor of his father, who is a veteran, for Veterans Day.
Taran Killam presented female TV star, which went to Katherine McNamara for her role on "Shadowhunters." She thanked the show's fans and said that they were her heroes.
Danai Gurira wins action movie star
9:21 p.m.: Susan Kelechi Watson and Aly Raisman took the stage to present action movie star, which went to Danai Gurira, who starred in "Black Panther."
She said, "Thank you -- or as we say in Wakanda, N'cos." She thanked director Ryan Coogler, Marvel, Disney and the people who voted for her. She said, "Thank you for affirming that women and girls, when they are given the chance to hang with the boys, can hang with the best of them."
Busy Philipps presented nighttime talk show of 2018 and said that she was rooting for the unnamed host who sent her a cookie basket when she launched her own talk show, "Busy Tonight." She also pointed out that no women were in the category.
"The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon" won the award. Fallon took the stage and thanked his fans and said, "We'll do anything to make you laugh and I think our country needs a good laugh right now." He also joked, "I've never been fatter," before thanking his colleagues, Justin Timberlake and his wife, among others.
Nicki Minaj opens the show
9:13 p.m.: The People's Choice Awards opened with a performance of "Good Form" by Nicki Minaj, who was flanked by dozens of dancers. Later, Tyga joined Minaj on stage and the two rapped "Dip" together.
John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell took the stage with martinis in hand, and Reilly asked Ferrell who made his tuxedo. Ferrell joked, "This is San Fernando Valley Rentals."
Reilly responded, "A Spanish designer, I love it. I borrowed mine from the valet."
The comedians presented the winner of favorite comedic movie, which went to "The Spy Who Dumped Me."
Mila Kunis accepted the award and used her platform to draw attention to the California fires. She said, "We are in a state of emergency. You know, I have this opportunity and I want to say if you can take a minute to donate to the LASD Foundation it would be really, really great."

Stars are arriving on the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards, including Danai Gurira, Lil Rel Howery, Terry Crews and Harry Shum Jr.
People's Choice Awards presenters and honorees
Presenters at the People's Choice Awards include Chrissy Teigen, Busy Philipps, Will Ferrell, John Legend and more. Legend is set to present the People's Champion Award to Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson.
Melissa McCarthy will be honored with the People's Icon of 2018 Award, while Victoria Beckham will take home the Fashion Icon Award.
"Avengers: Infinity War" has the most film nominations, with seven nods, while "The Walking Dead" tops the TV categories with eight nominations. Ariana Grande is the most nominated musician of the night, with four nods.
