Bay Area Couple Missing In Peru Has Ties To Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The U.S. State Department is now getting involved in the search for a bay area couple who vanished in Peru.
The department handed out posters of Jamie Neal and her boyfriend Garret Hand on Sunday. The two were last seen in Cusco in late January.
Neal's twin sister lives in the Sacramento area and her family says they're working with the U.S. Embassy in Peru.
"'I'm completely worried about her. I understand there are some dangerous areas and the places they were visiting have some warnings right now, for American tourists,'" said Kim Jerge, owner of the bike shop where Jamie worked.
Now there's a reward to help find the missing couple. Family and friends in the bay area are trying to get travelers visiting South America to help distribute posters when they get there.
