Would You Like Ketchup With That Painting?
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Whataburger wants to celebrate a big anniversary by using ketchup . . . literally.
The iconic Texas hamburger chain will mark the 30th anniversary of its "fancy ketchup cups" on Friday by selecting a few hardcore fans to have their pictures painted in the red condiment.
"We're excited for the opportunity to bring our loyal fans together to celebrate this milestone," Whataburger vice president of communications Pam Cox said in a news release. "We look forward to turning one of our most popular products into a unique, artistic social media experience."
To that end, the company has hired an Austin-based artist to draw several self-portraits of Whataburger fans using ketchup as the medium. The results will be shared on the company's Facebook and Twitter pages.
To enter for a chance to be immortalized in ketchup, fans must tweet @Whataburger with the hashtag #FancySKETCHUP.
The company says it will live-tweet the entire process and share the results from its ketchup artist throughout the day.
