DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - Just 18 minutes from the heart of downtown Dallas, the Trinity Forest Adventure Park is unique to the DFW metroplex.
"We are not a zip line park. We are more like an obstacle course in the trees. That's how I describe it," said Katy Girres, the course manager for TFAP.
Under a canopy of Post Oaks and Cedars, this combination obstacle course and zip line park will get your heart racing in no time. "We have about 5 different levels of difficulty. Kind of classified like ski runs yellow green blue and black," Girres said.
You start by getting geared up. They provide everything you need, helmet, gloves, and harness. Then everyone goes through ground school to help you get used to the equipment and learn how it works. After that, it's time for the real course. We started on one of the easier courses. I began by navigating some of the obstacles such as a tight rope. Then on to a zip line. You just sit down into the harness, and enjoy the ride.
As others fan out across various courses, I make my way across one obstacle then another. I found the cargo net was pretty challenging and required a lot of strength. I was happy to check that one off the list.
A ticket to the park buys three hours of time on the course, and it's so physically challenging it would be hard to do any more than that. Add in the 12 zip lines along the way and you have an afternoon of fun.
"So you did a good job. Black is way up there. You ready to give that a try?" Girres said.
I think we will leave that to the experts.
