AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A Texas task force has created what officials call a first-of-its-kind website designed to help families who have children with disabilities and special needs.
NavigateLifeTexas.org was created by a task force that's part of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
The commission says the site is meant to provide accurate, comprehensive health care information for special needs children, or those with disabilities. Officials say the site was "designed by parents, for parents," but can also help caregivers, clinicians, professionals, and support groups.
The task force was created by the Texas Legislature. It's charged with improving the quality, efficiency and coordination of health care for children with disabilities and special needs.
The website will 'officially' launch on July 6, 2015.
