MIDLOTHIAN (CBSDFW.COM) - Missy Bevers' truck is parked back in her family's driveway for the first time since her murder.
She drove it to Creekside Church in Midlothian early Monday morning for a fitness class. That's where police say someone in tactical gear attacked her. A search warrant released Thursday reveals she died from a head wound inflicted by "an unknown instrument."
The warrant also shows police removed her purse, iPad, and other personal items from the truck in an effort to find financial information or any communication she may have had with others. "The investigators are trying to put together a puzzle... working different angles, trying to play back time - where was she when, what was going on when," says Tarlton State University criminology professor G.M. Cox.
Cox says over two dozen investigators are working the case. Today, CBS11 learned the FBI has joined in too. "I think it's a very interesting case. I looked at the video. There's clearly planning. This is not a haphazard crime. It certainly looks like the individual took time to learn the territory, got dressed into a uniform," says Cox.
Bevers' funeral is planned for this weekend.
