Parkland Hospital Names New Interim CEO

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Board of Managers of Parkland Hospital system has selected Dr. Thomas Royer as the hospital's new interim Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Royer recently held the title of President/CEO of CHRISTUS Health.

Dr. Royer replaces Dr. Ron Anderson, who was CEO for 29 years until the board removed him from the post in August. Dr. Anderson will remain with the hospital as Senior Advisor to the Interim CEO.

Parkland Hospital provides medical care for thousands of indigent and critically injured Dallas County residents.  The hospital has faced possible forfeiture of Medicare and Medicaid assistance because of quality care failures.
