Overnight Earthquake Hits Near Azle

AZLE (CBSDFW.COM) -- At least 19 earthquakes shook North Texas in November, and the trend appears to be continuing.

According to USGS data, a 3.6 magnitude earthquake struck just two miles northwest of Azle at 12:10 a.m. early Sunday morning. The earthquake struck at a depth of 3.1 miles.

There were no reports of damage, though the region remains blanketed in ice and snow after a winter storm swept across Texas over the weekend.

In late November, leaders in Azle called on state officials to have geologists investigate the cause of the quakes, saying that citizens have become concerned about the increasing frequency.
