Moment 15: Witten Runs With No Helmet

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A lacerated spleen, a broken jaw, concussions, sprained joints... those were not enough to keep Jason Witten off of the football field. Witten has missed only one game in his 13-year career, the game after he had his jaw broken in three places during his rookie year.
Witten's toughness may be best defined by one play in Philadelphia.
Facing the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007, Witten was on the receiving end of a Tony Romo pass when the Dallas Cowboys tight end took a helmet-to-helmet hit. "Those guys him me pretty hard," Witten said when recalling the play.
While the hit knocked Witten's helmet from his head, it did not stop him. Witten ran down the field, sans helmet, and was tackled inside Philly's 10-yard line for a 53-yard gain.

"When you can do that, you are a tough football player," NFL television analyst John Madden said at the time.
"It's a special play," Witten said in a recent interview, "something I will remember for a long time." And so will Cowboys fans.
