Melissa Newton Races A Motorized Bathtub

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - NASCAR is roaring back into North Texas this weekend. Fort Worth's Texas Motor Speedway is hosting one of the last Sprint Cup Championship races of the year.

This year, TMS is also hosting a carnival complete with rides, food and some very unexpected excitement.

But you can't talk about NASCAR without talking about a little competitive racing.

CBS 11 Reporter Melissa Newton put her racing skills to the test Friday morning.

Newton drove a motorized bathtub that can reach speeds of 50 miles an hour, racing her photographer, Tim Anders, who rode in the sidecar of a motorcycle along with Mobile 11.

There were a few swerves, and at least one near miss, but it was a close race to the finish line.

Newton won, by a faucet. Check out the video below!
