Dear McMillen Families,

I am writing to share information regarding a situation that we are managing at our campus today, which also may be appearing on social media. At around 9:20 this morning, our student resource officer received notification from a student regarding a fellow classmate in distress. The SRO immediately located the student in a school bathroom and began CPR. Emergency services arrived and transported the student to the hospital. The parents have been notified and school and district officials are working closely with the Murphy Police Department as they investigate.

To address questions that parents may have, this incident involved a single student and no weapons. Due to student and family privacy, there is limited information that we can share, but I wanted you to be aware of what is happening at the campus and that we are employing all appropriate measures to care for students here at McMillen.

If your family has specific concerns, please contact me or a member of our administrative team. We appreciate your partnership as we focus on the wellbeing of our students.

Sincerely,

Brian Lyons, Principal
