Mavericks Trade Jones To Hawks For Morrow
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - Thursday's trade deadline came and went with very little action from the Dallas Mavericks.
They did make one last minute move, sending guard-forward Dahntay Jones to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for guard Anthony Morrow who's making $4 million in the final year of his deal.
Atlanta acquired Morrow from Brooklyn in the big offseason trade that sent Joe Johnson to the Nets.
Morrow, slowed by right hip and back injuries, averaged 5.2 points in only 24 games with the Hawks, but is averaging 11.5 points over his entire NBA career that began with two seasons at Golden State.
Jones, in his 10th season, has averaged 3.5 points in 50 games, including 15 starts. His contract expires at the end of the season. He averaged a career-best 10.2 points with Indiana in the 2009-10 season.
