Man Arrested For Touching Young Girl During 'Ice Age 4'

Updated June 6, 2014:  SOUTHLAKE (CBSDFW.COM) - According to Southlake Police, Sam Sahloul pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and received 90 days probation.

SOUTHLAKE (CBSDFW.COM) - An Arlington man is out of jail, accused of trying to touch a young girl inside a Southlake movie theater.

Witnesses say it happened during one of the early afternoon showings of Ice Age Continental Drift inside the Harkins Theatre near Southlake Town Square.

Sam Sahloul, 58, was arrested for disorderly conduct.  "It was a big misunderstanding," says Sahloul "I did not do anything."

According to witnesses Sahloul reached his hand under the armrest and tried to inappropriately touch a young girl there with her family.  The girl told her mom and they went to get the manager at the theater.

At that point, witnesses say Sahloul started running down the aisle.  Several movie goers tackled him and held him down until seconds later when Southlake Police arrived.

CBS 11 spoke with Sahloul at his Arlington home Friday, hours after his arrest.  "I never tried to touch anybody," said Sahloul "I was searching for something under my seat and that must have confused the young girl."

Sahloul says he decided to drive to that particular theater from his Arlington home because he wanted to watch the Ice Age sequel.

Parents at the theater hearing about what happened say the whole incident gives them chills.  "I'm glad I was here supervising my children my daughter and her friend," says Southlake resident Myrna D'Amico. "I'm just glad that everybody is very vigilant about watching what goes on it's sad that you have to watch those things but it does happen all over."

The management at Harkins Theatres is not commenting.

Southlake police say they are talking to witnesses and still investigating.
