Fort Worth Firefighters Rescue 4 In Christmas Fire

FORT WORTH (AP) - Fort Worth firefighters have rescued a family of four from the balcony of their townhome after it caught fire on Christmas Day.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the blaze started at about 2 a.m. When firefighters arrived the roof over several units were already on fire.

Fire officials say a couple and their two small children were standing on a rear balcony after escaping the flames. They say a ladder crew rescued them from the balcony.

The fire burned for more than an hour. Four units were damaged, and 10 people have been displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
