Heroes Project Event To Honor Chris Kyle, Help Vets With PTSD
American sniper Chris Kyle dedicated his life to helping veterans with PTSD. This weekend he's being remembered with a fundraiser for his cause.
Jason Kos, President of Fitco Fitness partnered with friend and American sniper Chris Kyle to form the Heroes Project. "He used to say if you get your body right then your head will follow so that was really what happened to him and what he wanted to perpetuate to the veterans."
The Fitco Cares Foundation, Heroes Project provides free, in-home fitness equipment, personal training and life coaching to veterans with disabilities, Gold Star families and those struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Thirty veterans have already benefitted from the Heroes Project, but now their mission is much bigger. They want to help over 1000 veterans this year and they are having their first annual Poker for PTSD tournament this weekend. They've received over $50,000 of donations in goods and services for prizes including the grand prize, a private jet get away. There will be music, food and of course poker. More importantly, it will be a night to honor an American hero.
