Duncanville High School To Relax Student Dress Code

DUNCANVILLE, Texas (1080 KRLD) - Some of the dress code requirements that caused a student protest which led to several student suspensions at Duncaville High School last year have been relaxed.

Over 140 Duncanville High School students were sent home last May for violating the dress code - that led to a student protest and food fight in the cafeteria.

Superintendent Alfred Ray says Duncanville ISD has since had several town hall meetings to address the dress code which led to the changes voted on last night by the school board; to no longer require collars, belts, tucked in shirts or that students wear specific colors.

Superintendent Ray says he believes the new - more relaxed - dress code sticks to the mission of preparing students for the work place.
