Sometimes people think you need a huge staff and lots of money to open your own business. All one Texan needed was a dream, his father's recipe for meat marinade and a $30 dehydrator from Wal-Mart.
He started making beef jerky about five years ago, but he had a unique marinade to go with the fresh spices and herbs.
"Back when I was a little kid, we saw him putting the Jack Daniels in there and we wanted that steak" said Mark Heymann of Dallas made Drunken Cow Jerky.
The alcohol is just part of the magic formula and it burns off in the cooking process. "You're never gonna get a buzz eating our product, it's really more for flavoring and breaking down fat" Mark added.
Five years later Drunken Cow Jerky has sold over 50,000 bags and is expanding to all over Texas.
