2 Months Later, Trapped Cars Extracted From Collapsed Parking Garage

DALLAS (CBS11) — Two months after a seven-story Dallas parking garage collapsed, crews Sunday began extracting hundreds of trapped cars.
Back in October when the Renaissance on Turtle Creek Condominiums' parking garage partially collapsed, many residents said they wondered if they would ever get their cars out.
"I just thought it would take more time," said pleasantly surprised resident Tyler Stevens, whose Ford Explorer is stuck inside the garage.
For the past several weeks, construction crews have been working around the clock, building scaffolding inside the garage around the hole.
Four temporary bridges have also been built connecting one side of the hole to the other.
Sunday the lead engineer on site began driving the residents' cars down the series of makeshift bridges.
It could take up to a week before all 200 trapped cars are out.
Tim Doyle, condominium board president, said the next step will be to repair the garage. That's set to be done by April.
