Traffic backups are being reported on Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township as firefighters battle a blaze at a former health club that is currently under renovation.
Firefighters were investigating a report of smoke in the area when they spotted flames on the roof of the animal control building.

"We certainly could still use a lot of food items, clothing and under-clothing for the residents both women and children," said a spokesperson for the facility.
Authorities say an 88-year-old woman was killed after being trapped in her burning home in northwest Detroit.
"Because of the fact that we could not get water in a timely fashion, this is what happens."
