Your QB With Valenti And Foster: "We Have To Take Advantage Of Being Back At Home"
DETROIT (97.1 THE TICKET) – Mike Valenti and Terry Foster went head-to-head with Detroit Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford on 97.1 The Ticket Monday.
The Lions (5-4) dropped to below .500 with the 34-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. It was a game in which Detroit was constantly playing catch-up and never got a handle on the lead.
Valenti opened up the interview asking Stafford if the team is good enough to win against these teams in the league?
" ... we've got plenty of talent," Stafford said. "We just have to execute ... every team in this league is good enough to beat the other."
But what about the mistakes and getting behind (in scoring) against teams like the Vikings or upcoming Green Bay?
" (it's the) little things we can't keep doing," Stafford said. "(I will) try to do everything we can to make the plays," he said.
Valenti and Foster asked about the hits on Calvin Johnson ... did Stafford think the Vikings were intentionally going for hits to Johnson's head?
"Don't know if it's deliberate or not ... but definitely at some point you've got to start protecting people out there. Looking at the tape it looked like they were ..." said Stafford.
Stafford told Valenti and Foster he's looking forward to being back in Detroit before the home fans. "We have to take advantage of being back at home."
