(AP) -- No matter the caliber of their opponent, the Detroit Tigers continue to roll at home.
The Tigers look to extend their winning streak at Comerica Park to 10 games Tuesday night against the New York Yankees.
Justin Verlander matched a career high with 14 strikeouts while Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera each homered Monday to help Detroit (59-50) to a fifth consecutive win overall, 7-2 over New York. The Tigers have hit .310 and averaged 6.3 runs while winning 15 of 16 at home.
Detroit has not won 10 straight at Comerica Park since June 15-July 15, 2006.
