According to reports by FOX Sports the Yankees have interest in free agent SS Jhonny Peralta.
In the report, it states that Peralta would be a good fit for the Yankees in replacement of Alex Rodriguez if he were to miss part or all of the 2014 season. Peralta, 31 is coming off an All-Star season in 2013 as well as being suspended for 50 games for involvement in the Biogenesis scandal.
Peralta would be thought to play 3B if Rodriguez is out as well as spelling Derek Jeter at short as he is coming off an injury.
Peralta hit .303 with 11 home runs, 55 RBI in 448 plate appearances.
