XanEdu To Invest $1M, Add 50 Jobs In Ann Arbor
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- The Ann Arbor-based learning materials supplier XanEdu Inc. will add 50 jobs in Ann Arbor and invest more than $1 million in a consolidation of its locations in Michigan and Kentucky.
Currently, XanEdu has 30 employees in Pittsfield Township. The jobs the company will add here will be in management, sales, and IT.
Ann Arbor Spark, the economic development agency for the Ann Arbor area, said it helped XanEdu secure $325,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corp.'s Michigan Business Development Program for the expansion. Spark officials said they also connected XanEdu with hiring and training resources offered by Washtenaw Community College.

Spark president and CEO Paul Krutko said his agency has been "meeting with XanEdu in recent years. Throughout the course of our retention work with XanEdu, we've connected the company with resources available through the Michigan Economic Development Corp. and Washtenaw Community College that have helped it continue to grow in Pittsfield Township, and positioned this region as a natural choice when XanEdu was looking to consolidate its operations in to one location where it could achieve its long-term goals."
XanEdu, Inc., compiles and produces print and digitized custom educational materials for educators, students and bookstores. XanEdu helps clients save money, improve efficiency, collaborate, engage with more content, and improve education. Its course packs, custom books and lab manuals are 100 percent copyright compliant. The company is transforming its business by enhancing its digital capabilities and expanding into new and adjacent markets.
"When looking for a location to consolidate our operations, Ann Arbor topped the list because we knew we could hire a range of talented employees here to meet our growth needs," XanEdu CEO John DeBoer said. "Ann Arbor Spark helped XanEdu realize that we'd be well-supported in our expansion here, and that we'd be able to confidently call this region our home and headquarters well in to the future."
