WSU Medical Student's Degree Conferred Posthumously

DETROIT (WWJ) - He was to graduate with his medical degree with his fellow students at Wayne State University this Spring. Instead friends and faculty gathered for a memorial service Friday to remember a bright and hard-working student.

WWJ's Marie Osborne reports that about 150 people gathered Friday at Wayne State Medical School to pay tribute to a former student who died just days before his graduation. Francis Dussou's degree was conferred posthumously.

"For me, what came through was his incredible work ethic, and his commitment to always doing what's in the best interest of his patients," says Simone Brennen a former instructor.

Ruth Ann Lieblich is an instructor at the medical school: She says he had a wonderful, warm smile.

Dussault was found dead of multiple stab wounds at his Madison Heights home two weeks ago.

The death was ruled a suicide by the Oakland County Medical Examiner.

His friends say they have a hard time accepting that conclusion.
