Wrong-Way Drunk Driver Crashes On Lodge Freeway
DETROIT (WWJ) - Police say a wrong-way driver who was under the influence of alcohol crashed his full-sized van on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit.
The incident happened just after 7 a.m. Friday on southbound M-10 at Howard Street.
Police say the man crashed into the median, blocking the road's left shoulder.
According to Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw, the wrong-way driver was drunk. The man was arrested and taken to the police department, while his van had to be removed from the scene by a tow truck.
Shaw said luckily, the man didn't crash into any oncoming vehicles and no one was injured.
Charges are pending.
