Woman Struck, Killed Along Dark Flint-Area Roadway
GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP (AP) — A 31-year-old woman has been struck by several vehicles and killed as she walked along a Flint-area roadway after leaving a local bar.
MLive.com reports Sunday that the woman first was struck about 11 p.m. Saturday in Grand Blanc Township. Police say she then may have been hit by three or four other vehicles.
Grand Blanc Township police Sgt. Scott Theede tells the newspaper that investigators don't know if alcohol was an issue or a factor. He says the woman "was walking away from that business and was walking in the lane of traffic."
Theede says "visibility is going to be an issue" because the woman was wearing dark clothing and was struck along a stretch of roadway that has no streetlights.
"At this point, there may have been another car or two that did not stop," says Theede, adding that authorities are seeking motorists who believe they may have struck something in the area Saturday night.
"We just want to talk to them and get all the pieces to this," he said.
