Woman Shot During Robbery Attempt At Gas Station
A woman has been shot in an attempted armed robbery at a west side Detroit gas station Tuesday morning.
Reporting from the scene, WWJ's Ron Dewey says that investigators were going over a Toyota Yaris parked in front of the BP gas station located at the corner of Wyoming and Plymouth. The driver's side window had been shattered; a bullet casing could be seen on the ground nearby.
Witnesses told police that a man wearing a hooded jacket approached the car just before 4:00 a.m. and shot the woman inside. She was shot in the shoulder before the man took off on foot. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital. Her condition was not known.
The suspect has been described as a shorter male with a mustache, wearing a hooded jacket.
