Woman Pleads Guilty In Sex Trafficking Of 17-Year-Old Girl
WICHITA, Kan. (WWJ/AP) - A 33-year-old Kansas woman charged in the sex trafficking of a 17-year-old girl, who at one time was victimized in Michigan, has pleaded guilty in federal court.
Natasha Harper pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of prostitution, according to a report in The Wichita Eagle.
Prosecutors say that Harper transported the girl from Kansas to Michigan, Illinois and Iowa and back to Kansas so the girl could in engage in sex acts for money.
U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said that Harper advertised the girl's services on the Internet and Harper received some of the money.
Harper's sentencing has been set for July 7. A sentence of 90 months in federal prison followed by 10 years on supervised release is being recommended.
