Woman Dies After Crash On Telegraph Road
Southfield (WWJ)- A woman died Sunday morning after the car she was in was hit by a speeding car and crashed into a tree.
Investigators say the driver who caused the accident on Telegraph Road just north of Eight Mile tried to run from the scene, but was caught and is in jail. Charges are pending.
Nancy Reno was driving on Telegraph at the time and just missed being hit.
"I had my speed set at 45 speed limit there by K-Mart and this blue sedan come by me, I'm going to guess his speed was between 60 and 70 miles an hour," Reno said.
Southfield police had not released the woman's name as of early Sunday afternoon.
Northbound Telegraph Road was closed for about two hours while police conducted an investigation and cleared the debris. The road re-opened around 11 a.m.
