Woman Dies After Being Thrown From Motorcycle In Roundabout
CLINTON TWP. (WWJ) - A 26-year-old Warren woman was killed after being thrown off a motorcycle that was heading into a roundabout in Macomb County.
Clinton Township Police say Jacquelin Badomski died when the motorcycle crashed in a roundabout at Cass Avenue and Romeo Plank Road around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say Badomski, who was wearing a helmet, was a passenger on the motorcycle.
The driver, identified as a 56-year-old from Eastpointe, attempted a "panic stop" when he entered the roundabout, according to police. That's when the motorcycle hit a curb and the two victims flew off the bike.
The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, is hospitalized in stable condition. Police did not immediately release his identity.
Witnesses told police they saw the motorcycle skidding just before the roundabout and go down after the driver lost control.
A statement from police says alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and it is unknown if drugs are a factor. Toxicology tests were conducted, but those results won't be known for some time.
Police are still looking for people who may have witnessed the accident. Anyone with information is asked to call Clinton Township Police at 586-493-7911.
