Woman Charged In Facebook-feud Fatal Crash

A Pontiac woman was arraigned Friday morning, accused in a fatal accident that started with a fight on Facebook.

The 23-year old Torrie Emery was formally charged with second degree murder, felony assault and child abuse.

According to Pontiac police investigators,  Emery had her 3-year-old daughter in the car Wednesday afternoon when she rammed a car being driven by Alesha Abernathy of Pontiac. Police said Abernathy's car hit a dump truck while being chased.

Abernathy was killed in the crash.  Police said Danielle Booth of Pontiac, a passenger in  Abernathy's car, was injured. The suspect and child weren't hurt.

Police said the child abuse charge was brought because Emery's daughter was in the car.

Booth had reportedly  filed a complaint on Tuesday claiming she was being threatened and harassed by Emery on Facebook, a social networking website.

Emery will remain jailed until her next court date next Thursday.
