Woman Arrested, Suspected Of Shooting Boyfriend In Groin
ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - A Canton Township woman is in custody after authorities say she shot a man in a Rochester Hills home.
Oakland County Sheriff's officials say they received a call about a shooting at a residence in the 400 block of Sandalwood Dr. at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
When deputies arrived, the injured 54-year-old man told they he'd been shot by his girlfriend, who had fled the scene.
The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the groin/stomach area. His condition is unknown.
The 57-year-old female suspect was arrested a short time later at a strip mall in the area of Bywater and Union Lake Road in Commerce Township.
Sheriff's officials said, as of late Tuesday morning, they had not recovered the handgun used in the shooting. Investigators aren't yet talking about a possible motive.
No names have been released as an investigation continues.
