Woman Accused In Drunken Ambulance Joyride
Authorities say a 31-year-old Bay County woman went on a drunken joyride in an ambulance two days after getting probation in another vehicle-theft case.
Hydi Danks of Bangor Township was in the Bay County jail Sunday awaiting trial in circuit court. She waived a preliminary examination.
The sheriff's department says it doesn't know if she has a lawyer.
Danks is accused of stealing a Bay Regional Medical Center ambulance July 10. Authorities say she then stole a cell phone from a bystander and fled.
The Bay City Times says two days earlier, Danks got probation for attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle and retail fraud.
The new charges include auto theft, drunken driving, assault, and resisting or obstructing police.
