Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Highland Park
Ever wonder what it would feel like to win $128 million? Someone who bought the lone winning Powerball lottery ticket in Highland Park is going to find out.
The winning ticket was sold at an adult book store along Woodward Avenue in Highland Park. And, as of Monday afternoon, the winner had not come forwar
d.
WWJ's Vickie Thomas the owner of the Uptown Book Store if he thought someone might be a little embarassed to come forward and claim the prize.
"Naw, (maybe) he bought it at the outside window. And, if it's a regular customer, no big deal. I've been in this business for a long time, and I'm not embarassed," he said.
According to Powerball rules in Michigan, winners cannot remain anonymous when they claim their prize.
Check your ticket for the winning numbers: 7-12-23-34-38, the Powerball was 33, and the Power Play was 4.
If that lucky player chooses the annuity payment option, he or she will receive payments over 30 years. But if they prefer to have it all at once, the estimated lump-sum cash value of the jackpot would be $67 million, before taxes. No word yet who bought that fateful ticket.
Just a footnote: Michigan appears to be on a winning streak. Last week, a Mega Millions lottery ticket worth $140 million was sold in Gladstone, near Escanaba in the Upper Peninsula.
