Wings Take On Columbus
COLUMBUS (WWJ) - After a few days off the Detroit Red Wings are back on the ice Tuesday at Columbus against the Blue Jackets.
The Detroit Red Wings (5-1-0) are back on Tuesday night after getting their first loss of the season - a routing by the Washington Capitals on Saturday.
The Wings will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets (0-7-1) who lost a heartbreaking game allowing two goals into the net with 36 seconds left in their game against Ottawa on Saturday.
It looks like goaltender Ty Conklin will be in the net for the Wings Tuesday night replacing Jimmy Howard -- who left the team to be at the birth of his first child with his wife.
Conklin needs to rebound after the thrashing he took in goal - allowing seven goals in net against the Captials.
Althought Joey MacDonald was recalled to take Howard's roster spot - it doesn't seem likely he'll start against the Blue Jackets.
