Windsor Students, Teacher Injured In Lab Explosion
A science lab explosion injures several people, including a teacher, at a Windsor high school. WWJ spoke with Brennan Catholic High School spokesperson, Jill Braido, who said there were seventeen students in the class at the time.
"All were taken to hospital to be assessed... no critical injuries. We were concerned, you know, initially. You hear 'chemical explosion,' you think and burns and that. Again, there were no critical injuries," Braido said.
Braido said everyone was wearing goggles, including the teacher--who took most of the impact when a chemical-filled Bunsen burner exploded.
"The teacher took the brunt of the flying glass...he did receive some lacerations around his face," Braido said.
Brennan Catholic High School is located on Windsor's east end, across from Belle Isle.
