Wild RW Setoguchi Fined By NHL For High Sticking
NEW YORK (AP) — Minnesota Wild right wing Devin Setoguchi has been fined by the NHL for a high-sticking penalty that leveled Detroit defenseman Kyle Quincey.
The league announced Tuesday that Setoguchi was docked $8,108.11, the maximum amount allowed under the collective bargaining agreement. The incident occurred in the second period of the Wild's win Sunday over the Red Wings. Setoguchi was given a double minor for hitting Quincey in the face with his stick as they collided near mid-ice. Quincey was down for a few seconds before getting up and going to the locker room for treatment.
As a first-time offender, the most Setoguchi could've been fined was $10,000 or one-half of his daily salary, whichever was less.
Setoguchi has two goals and three assists in 15 games this season.
