White Lake Man Behind Bars On Federal Child Porn Charges
WHITE LAKE (WWJ) - An international investigation has led to the arrest of a Southeast Michigan man on child pornography charges.
John Millmine, 34, of White Lake is behind bars on charges of production, distribution and possession of child pornography after the lengthy investigation involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
The agencies received a tip from investigators in both Phoenix, Arizona and across the ocean in Ireland after, under an online alias, Millmine had allegedly shared images and videos of himself sexually abusing a toddler.
During execution of the search warrant, HSI confiscated a smart phone belonging to Millmine. On the phone were several images and videos of child pornography, police said.
Millmine was arrested near his home on Nov. 11 on state charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He's been in custody since his arrest and made an initial appearance in federal court Thursday.
If convicted, Millmine faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.
HSI encourages the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free Tip Line at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE or by completing its online tip form. Both are staffed around the clock by investigators.
Suspected child sexual exploitation or missing children may be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, an Operation Predator partner, via its toll-free 24-hour hotline, 1-800-THE-LOST.
