Whirlpool, Greystar Sign National Appliance Agreement
Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool Corp. and Charleston, S.C.-based Greystar Real Estate Partners announced today a new joint national appliance program that will allow the United States' largest multifamily property management company to provide stylish, quality appliances to its facilities at affordable prices.
The agreement includes a preferred vendor program that will recommend Whirlpool and Amana brands for new construction, rehabilitation and appliance replacement at all Greystar communities.
"This agreement will allow us to provide the greatest return on investment for our clients by leveraging the strength of Whirlpool Corporation's brands and services," said DeeAnne Clowes, senior director of national procurement at Greystar. "Our community owners will be able to easily select from a variety of Energy Star qualified kitchen and laundry appliances and have them delivered to the right place at the right time, which is crucial to a smooth-operating portfolio and meeting Greystar's sustainability objectives for energy management."
Whirlpool worked with Greystar's new Web-based expense management program, OpsTechnology Spend Management Systems, to ensure Greystar's processes remained efficient.

For the third year in a row, Greystar has had the biggest portfolio growth among the nation's 50 largest apartment managers. According to the National Multi Housing Council, Greystar increased the number of apartments under its management by more than 33,500 in 2010, moving them to No. 1.
