Westland Police Officer Featured On 'Steve Harvey' For Buying Car Seat For Broke Dad
With tensions between police and those they protect higher than ever it's important to highlight positive stories and just one such story is being highlighted on daytime talk show "Steve Harvey".
In April, Josh Scaglione of the Westland Police Department pulled over LaVonte Dell.
Dell, a black man, said it went nothing like he thought it would after a white police officer approached his car.
Officer Scaglione noticed Dell's daughter wasn't in a child safety seat and after hearing Dell explain how he couldn't afford the seat officer Scaglione followed him to a store to buy one with his own money.
The segment aired Monday, July 18. Detroiters can tune in for "Steve Harvey" on CBS 62 weekdays at 4 p.m.
The experience truly changed LaVonte, who had gone through negative experiences with police officers as a young man and has now changed his outlook towards police.
