West Michigan Alltel Stores Finally Become Verizon
Verizon Wireless has finally received legal permission to rebrand its Alltel acquisition as Verizon in four West Michigan cities.
Included are the following Verizon Wireless stores, which have reopened under the Verizon name:
* Big Rapids, 840 S. State St.
* Cadillac, 8836 Boon Road
* Ludington, 5495 W. US-10
* Mt. Pleasant, 2212 S. Mission St. in the Stadium Mall.
The newly branded Verizon Wireless locations now offer customers the full range of Verizon Wireless products and services. With this change, Alltel customers can purchase Verizon Wireless equipment and service, and activate new handsets at this location.
Verizon Wireless will waive its activation fee and Alltel's early termination fee for eligible customers who receive a special notification in the mail with the details of this offer.
Alltel customers can continue to receive Alltel sales and service support on their existing Alltel accounts at the South Mission Street store until conversion to Verizon Wireless is completed. Additionally, existing Verizon Wireless customers can now be served at this newly converted Verizon Wireless location.
Store hours for the Big Rapids, Cadillac, Ludington and Mount Pleasant locations are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Verizon Wireless completed its purchase of Alltel in January 2009. Due to its legal obligations, Verizon Wireless was constrained from rebranding this market area until recently. Those restrictions have been lifted.
In Michigan, Verizon Wireless has more than 2,100 employees and 66 company-owned retail locations in more than 50 cities.
Headquartered in Basking Ridge, N.J., with 82,000 employees nationwide, Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ) and Vodafone (LSE, NASDAQ: VOD).
