CBS Detroit - If you intend on travelling I-275 this weekend, you are encouraged to plan ahead, as closures have been announced.
Saturday, July 24, the freeway will be closed in both directions at Grand River Avenue for a 15-minute periods, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation, as crews conduct maintenance in the area. Those closures will take place between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Sunday, July 25, I-275 will be closed completely from 5 a.m. until 9 a.m. between 8 Mile Road and Grand River for maintenance work as well. The ramps leading from eastbound I-96, southbound M-5, westbound I-696 and northbound M-5 will all be closed during this time.
Traffic on northbound I-275 south of 8 Mile Road will be diverted onto 8 Mile Road during the Sunday closures.
