Weekend Road Work Alert: M-10, I-94
It could be slow-going for drivers on the Lodge this weekend. Resurfacing on more than a mile of northbound and southbound Lodge Freeway is scheduled to begin Friday.The project will take place between I-75 and Griswold Street in downtown Detroit and is expected to be completed in late August. Crews will close northbound and southbound M-10 one direction at a time over three weekends. The first full closure is scheduled on the northbound side beginning at 11 pm. Friday.
Meantime, in Macomb County, MDOT says eastbound and westbound I-94 will close for demolition of the eastbound I-696 ramp to eastbound I-94. The full closure, between 10 Mile and 12 Mile roads, will begin at 10 p.m. on Friday and end by 5 a.m. on Monday. Through traffic will be detoured utilizing M-102 (Eight Mile Road), M-3 (Gratiot Ave) and Metro Parkway in each direction. Local traffic will be allowed to proceed up to 10 Mile Road in the eastbound direction, 12 Mile Road in the westbound direction.

In Oakland County, the exit ramp from northbound M-10 to northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) will be closed from 7 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday. The ramp closure is needed for ongoing work on US-24 near the interchange.
I-696:
In Macomb County, eastbound I-696 ramp to eastbound I-94 will close beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday until late October for ramp reconstruction. A detour will be posted directing traffic north on M-3 (Gratiot Ave) to eastbound Metro Parkway back to eastbound I-94.
I-94:
In Wayne County, eastbound I-94 will have a double lane closure from Merriman to Beech Daly roads for resurfacing work. The double lane closure begins at 8 p.m. on Friday and ends by 5 a.m. on Monday.
In Wayne County, ongoing construction on M-39, from I-94 to I-75, will result in the closure of the eastbound and westbound I-94 ramps to southbound M-39. The ramps will close at 9 a.m. on Friday and remain closed until mid-Nov. Detours will be posted.
In St. Clair County, beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, the westbound I-94 exit ramp to Fred Moore Highway will be closed for reconstruction. The ramp is expected to reopen in mid-August. A detour will be posted utilizing Wadhams Road back to Fred Moore Highway.
I-75:
In Wayne County, scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. on Monday 7/19 and ending by 5 p.m. on Friday, 7/23, the two right lanes of southbound I-75 will be closed over the Rouge Bridge for pavement repair.
In Oakland County, beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday and ending by 5 a.m. on Monday, the southbound I-75 exits to Chrysler Drive and Square Lake Road will be closed for repair. Detours will be posted.
In Oakland County, beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday and ending by 2 p.m. on Sunday, the northbound I-75 exit to Crooks Road, and the Crooks Road entrance to northbound I-75 will be closed for repairs.
In Oakland County, beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday and ending by 6 a.m. on Saturday, the two right lanes of northbound I-75 will be closed from Big Beaver to Square Lake roads for pavement repair.
In Oakland County, beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday and ending by 5 a.m. on Monday, the two left lanes of southbound I-75 will be closed from Giddings to Squirrel roads for resurfacing.
In Oakland County, beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday and ending by 2 p.m. on Sunday, the two right lanes of northbound I-75 will be closed from Long Lake to Square Lake roads.
I-96:
In Detroit, westbound I-96 will have a right lane closure at Meyers for sign removal beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
In Oakland County, westbound I-96 will have a single lane closure at Novi Road beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
M-59:
In Oakland and Macomb counties, beginning at 8 a.m. and ending by 3 p.m. on Monday, crews will reduce eastbound and westbound M-59 to a single lane between Crooks and Ryan roads to put in a traffic shift. After 3 p.m. on Monday, two lanes will be open in each direction.
In Oakland County, beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, the eastbound M-59 exit to Dequindre will be closed for ramp reconstruction. The ramp will remain closed until late August. Traffic will be diverted to Rochester Road.
In Oakland County, beginning at Midnight and ending at 5 p.m. on Saturday, the ramp from westbound M-59 to northbound I-75 will be closed.
In Oakland County, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday and ending by 6 a.m. on Monday, eastbound and westbound M-59 will be reduced to a single lane between Williams Lake and Airport roads for pavement repair.
In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound M-59 will have two lanes open between Schoenherr Highway and Garfield Road for pavement repair. The lane restrictions begin at 9 p.m. on Saturday and end by 3 p.m. on Monday.
M-39 (Southfield Freeway):
In Detroit, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. on Friday, the right lane of northbound M-39 at McNichols Road for bridge inspection.
M-153 (Ford Road):
In Wayne County, during the overnight hours (9 p.m. - 8 a.m) on Saturday and Sunday, intermittent lane closures on eastbound and westbound Ford Road between Haggerty and Newburg roads in Westland. The lane restrictions are needed for resurfacing.
M-3 (Gratiot Avenue):
In Macomb County, southbound M-3 will have the right and right center lanes closed for resurfacing from 7 p.m. on Friday and ending by 5 a.m. on Monday.
US-24 (Telegraph Road):
In Oakland County, northbound Telegraph will be reduced to a single lane from I-696 to 12 Mile Road for ongoing construction. The restrictions begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and end by 5 a.m. on Monday.
