Weekend Gambling Guarantee Guide
By: Jamie Samuelsen
Wondering what's going to happen this weekend?
Looking to make a little money wagering on some games?
Want to know who will take home the Oscars on Sunday night?
Look no further. Wojodamus may claim to be able to read the heavens, but this is where you'll find out what REALLY is going to happen.
MICHIGAN WILL DESTROY ILLINOIS
The Wolverines have had two weeks to stew on their MSU blowout and a week to consider why they struggled so mightily to get past Penn State. In other words, John Beilein has had a week to get his message across and has had his team's full attention in practice. The Illini are probably an NCAA bubble team right now even though they are fighting for security. But that pales in comparison to Michigan which is battling for a one seed and fighting to restore it's national reputation as a power.
MICHIGAN STATE WILL LOSE IT'S SECOND IN A ROW
Seen this movie before? The Spartans will fall behind quickly at Ohio State. Then they'll rally. But they'll fall short as DeShaun Thomas and Aaron Craft will control play in front of a rabid crown in Columbus. No shame in this loss. And MSU might be looking ahead just a bit to the game March 3rd in Ann Arbor. But the loss in Columbus will effectively kill their chances for a Big Ten regular season title and their quest for a #1 seed in the NCAAs.
THERE WILL BE NO DRAMA AT THE OSCARS
Want the winners? Here they are. Argo. Daniel Day-Lewis. Jennifer Lawrence. Robert DeNiro. Anne Hathaway. Stephen Spielberg. The suspense has been taken out of the Oscars over the years because of all the coverage leading up to the damn thing. Thanks internet. You've ruined something else.
KRAZY FOR KOBERNUS
By Monday, you'll be tired of reading the name Jeff Kobernus. The Tigers infielder/outfielder was a Rule 5 pick-up who has to make the big league club or the Tigers risk losing him back to the Washington Nationals. Every spring, one guy grabs all the headlines and makes you think that he has the stuff to be a breakout star (see Rivera, Mike). Kobernus has speed and is a right-handed hitter, both attractive qualities for Jim Leyland. He may flame out. But he'll grab some headlines for a while.
You can't win money on the Kobernus call, but feel free to cash in on the rest. And remember where you heard it.
You're welcome.
