Royal Wedding Set For April 29th
Prince William and Kate Middleton will marry April 29 in Westminster Abbey, the historic London church where Princess Diana's funeral was held.
Royal officials said Tuesday the couple chose the date because they wanted a spring wedding. It also the feast day of St. Catherine of Siena, whose name Middleton shares.
Queen Elizabeth II married at the abbey, the 1,000-year-old church in central London where British kings and queens are crowned.
William and Kate decided against celebrating their nuptials at St. Paul's Cathedral, where William's parents married in 1981.
The palace said the royal family and the Middletons will cover the costs of the nuptials, apart from security. Click here for the website.
Meantime, a Church of England bishop has apologized for remarking that he gives the upcoming royal marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton about ``seven years.''
Bishop Pete Broadbent says he has conveyed his sincere regrets to the couple and to Prince Charles for ``deeply offensive'' comments he made on Twitter and Facebook.
The bishop of Willesden says he made a major error in the tone and content of his comments about the wedding plans. He says he wishes the couple a long, happy marriage.
