[VIDEO] Water Thrown In The Face Of Homeless Man By McDonald's Employee
DETROIT (WWJ) - A video showing a McDonald's drive-through worker offering a reportedly homeless man a burger and then throwing water in the man's face is quickly moving through social media waves.
Caught on camera, the worker is initially talking to a drive-through customer when their attention turns toward the homeless man.
WARNING: Racial Slurs And Strong Language
"Hey Willie, come here --- you want a sandwich? ... I'm about to help you," says the McDonald's employee.
"Bless his ---," you hear someone say from inside the drive-through car.
Instead of handing him the promised burger, he throws water in the face of the obviously confused elderly man.
After throwing water in the man's face -- all the homeless man says is "why you do that?" as he walks away in the rain.
The humiliation of the man is further heard by the laughter from inside the car and the seemingly indifferent reaction of the employee.
The man who initially posted the video later posted another one on social media explaining that at the time of the incident he was "high as f***."
The man who recorded the video is a Detroiter who calls himself Skeez, and he says he regrets the posting.
"They were actually arguing with each other and that's what was funny to me, " he explained to WWJ's Zahra Huber.
He added he thought the employee was about to feed the homeless man when he offered the burger. "And then he did what he did," he said.
The owner of the McDonalds franchise expressed dismay and said the incident would be addressed with the employee.
"I am very disturbed by the inappropriate behavior of this employee. This type of behavior is not tolerated in my organization," said Wise Finley, McDonald's franchisee, in a press release. "I expect my employees to treat everyone with dignity and respect, and this was unacceptable. I am taking appropriate action with respect to this individual. "
