WARREN (WWJ) - Warren police say a 50-year-old man was killed in a house fire Wednesday morning.
Neighbors tell WWJ fire broke out at the home on Thomas Avenue, near I-696 and Ryan Road, around 8:30 a.m. It appears the fire started in the front of the house, possibly in the living room. That area of the house itself is now gutted.
While the man's identity has not been released, neighbors say he was a life-long Warren resident who recently fell seriously ill and lived alone in the home with his dog.
Firefighters have contained the blaze but remain on the scene, putting out hot spots.
